It's very much a "street level" view of a super hero comic. The basic idea is to tell the story of a mainstream superhero comic from the perspective of the normal, every day police men and women in charge of policing Gotham - home to super villains, crime syndicates, and Batman. The premise is rather simple, yet has not really been done before. The series revolves around the Gotham police force (Gotham Central Police Department). ![]() (Both are among my favorite books all time - Y just slightly edging out Walking Dead at the top.) What's even more is that it is hands down my favorite Batman book ever, and he's barely even in it! ![]() Even books that I absolutely love, like The Walking Dead or Y: The Last Man I didn't really get too into until the first arc had completed. Normally, it takes a few issues, maybe the first story arc entirely to determine that. ![]() Recently, I just started reading the trade paperbacks of Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka's incredible series "Gotham Central." It is perhaps the only comic book I have ever read in which the very first issue was so amazing that I immediately loved the series.
